About Hi-Eight Films
Hi-Eight Films was created from a simple frustration: finding great films and getting them in front of the right audience has become unnecessarily difficult.
Over the past two decades, streaming platforms have made watching content easier, but they have also created new problems. Independent filmmakers struggle with discoverability, limited control over pricing and distribution, unclear analytics, and platforms that often prioritize their own interests over matching audiences with films they would actually enjoy.
At the same time, audiences are overwhelmed with content while still feeling like there is "nothing to watch."
Hi-Eight Films exists to bridge that gap.
This platform was built by someone who genuinely loves film and television, has spent years studying recommendation systems, streaming platforms, audience behavior, and media discovery, and wanted to create something that solves the problems both filmmakers and viewers experience every day.
Instead of forcing filmmakers into a single release model, Hi-Eight Films allows creators to choose how they want to distribute their work:
- Rent
- Buy
- Subscription Streaming
- Free with Ads
Filmmakers keep control over their pricing, release strategy, and audience relationship.
The long-term goal is not to become another generic streaming platform. The goal is to create a better ecosystem for film discovery, one where audiences can find stories that truly fit their interests, and filmmakers can directly understand how their films connect with viewers through transparent analytics and recommendation systems designed around audience-film matching instead of platform manipulation.
Hi-Eight Films is actively evolving. New features, improved design, and TV platform support are currently in development because building a better experience for both filmmakers and audiences is an ongoing process.
This platform is being built with a simple belief:
Great stories deserve a better way to reach the people who want to watch them.
